(Hello. This is Fabrice.)
There is nothing like the experience of sitting in front of a movie and being transported to another world. Having an emotional connection with a fictional being, empathizing with their struggles, laughing and crying along with them and being so invested in their lives that you end up forgetting about yours, turning yourself into an anonymous silent witness.
And when the journey is over, seeing the credits roll and the lights turning on, sending you back to a seat you never left.
Being haunted by the high that movie gave you, by that feeling of seeing something that resonates so deeply with who you are that it gives you goosebumps just by thinking about it. That feeling that gets bigger and stronger the more you reflect on it.
That feeling I can describe but not explain. Because I can’t explain magic and I don’t want to.
That experience is what makes me dream of cinema and of making original and bold character driven movies.
